We are a sub caste of the Kapu or Naidu caste of Andhra Pradesh. We are also referred to by our caste title Naidu and Naicker. Kapus were the earliest inhabitants of the Deccan region, people who migrated from the north, cleared forests for agriculture and built settlements.

Muhurtam is a ceremony wherein an auspicious period of the day is chosen for the marriage. It is mostly the period of evening hours i.e.7-11 pm. The Telugu marriage rites are basically Hindu marriage rites.
